How do I add users and set up their access in Core dna?

Add users from the admin, then assign a role that scopes what each person can see and change. Core dna does not cap user numbers, so there is no per-seat cost as your team grows.

Platform & Architecture

Users are added from the admin, and each one is assigned a role that determines what they can see and change. There is no per-seat licence — you can add as many users as your team needs at no additional cost.

Setting up a user is two steps:

  1. Create the account. Add the person's details and the sites or sections they belong to.
  2. Assign a role. The role, not the individual, carries the permissions — so a new starter inherits a known, reviewed set of access rights instead of being configured from scratch.

Roles follow the principle of least privilege and can be scoped by site, section, and content type. In a multi-site or multi-location setup, that means a local manager can be given full control of their own pages, read-only access to the shared catalog, and no access at all to brand templates.

Every change is attributed and logged, so you can see who edited what and when. Where a change needs oversight, an approval gate can require sign-off before it goes live. For how the scoping works in detail, see restricting what a user can see and edit.
