What does extended support cover after a platform reaches end of life?

It varies by vendor. Extended support usually keeps security or quality patches coming for a set period but adds no new features.

Updated

Extended support keeps a version patched for a defined period after standard support ends. It does not add features, and the scope varies by vendor:

  • Adobe Commerce 2.4.6 and 2.4.7: an extra year of quality and security patches for the core application, at no additional cost.
  • Kentico Xperience 13: security hotfixes only, through December 31, 2026.
  • Sitecore XP 10.0 and 10.1: from June 1, 2026, production incident help is no longer included in extended support.
  • SAP Commerce 2205 on-premise: customer-specific maintenance, with no new releases.

Check whether your extensions, hosting images and language runtime are covered too, since they often follow their own schedules. Treat the extended period as the time to complete an upgrade or migration. The full list of 2026 dates is in Migrating to composable commerce before your platform reaches end of life.
