Categories

The category area is the central place where all website categories are managed. It is possible to organise categories into deep-level hierarchy structures where there is a parent > child > sub-child etc. category structure.

To edit the existing categories click on the “pencil” icon positioned on the right of each category. Within the edit page it is possible to update the:



There are two ways to create a new category, one is by clicking the “Add Category” button at the top of the page, or by clicking the “three-dots” positioned on the right hand side of each item. Both ways will lead to the Edit page, the only difference is that with the first option the system will create the category as a parent item (if not changed on the edit page), and the second option will create a new category under the selected parent category (if not changed on the edit page). 



Example of creating a Subcategory:


Using the same approach a sub-sub-category can be created by adding a sub-category under the new Subcategory category:



It is also possible to change the category position by editing the category and changing its parent category, for example if we want to move the SubSubCategory to display on the same level as the the Subcategory click on the parent field and select a new category, in the case below that would be Test Category:


Save the changes, and navigate to the Categories listing page, the structure will be changed to below:


SubSubCategory is now positioned under the “Test Category”. 

Use Example

Created categories will be available across content applications such as Pages, Blogs, FAQs etc. and as such records from those applications can be assigned to these categories. 

Pages

To assign a page to a category Edit the page and within the Details tab assign the page to a desired category. 


Blogs

Navigate to Content > Blogs, on the main Blog Listing page edit one of the existing blog posts. On the Edit Blog page open the Details tab and assign the categories for this particular blog.
