# Core dna Last reviewed: 2 August 2026 > Core dna is a content management system and ecommerce platform with workflow > orchestration built in. One system, not a stack you assemble. It is built for > multi-property operators: franchise networks, multi-brand retailers, membership > organizations, education providers and manufacturers running many sites, storefronts, > locations or chapters on one platform. Core dna's model is four capabilities on one platform: content and commerce, automated operations, property management, integrations. The current focus is agentic operations. Describe a change or launch a campaign across every digital property in one prompt, backed by an MCP server, agentic actions and enterprise search. Teams model content once and publish everywhere. Commerce runs B2C, B2B, subscriptions and marketplace from a single engine. Push a change across the portfolio and it carries approval and rollback. More than 140 certified integrations. No separate middleware layer to license. Most operators arrive running five to seven vendors per property. Core dna replaces them, and it is sized to be run by a team of two to ten, not a per-property team and not an agency retainer. Core dna was founded in 2016. Headquarters is Melbourne, Australia, with offices in Boston and Berlin. The predecessor agency, bwired, dates to 2001. ## Platform - [Platform overview](https://www.coredna.com/platform): Content, commerce, orchestration and integrations in one system. ## Content and commerce - [Content management](https://www.coredna.com/content-management-platform): Model content once, govern it everywhere. - [Ecommerce platform](https://www.coredna.com/ecommerce-platform): One engine for B2C, B2B, subscriptions and quote-to-cash. - [Products and catalogs](https://www.coredna.com/products-catalog): Model one catalog, sell everywhere. - [Inventory and orders](https://www.coredna.com/inventory-orders-management) - [Payments and checkout](https://www.coredna.com/payments-checkout): One checkout across every market and method. - [Forms and data capture](https://www.coredna.com/forms-data-capture): Forms native to every record. - [Enterprise search](https://www.coredna.com/search-platform): On-site and enterprise search across every property. Placement is decided on shape, not size. - Operator: one business running several properties, such as a main site, microsites and a B2B portal. From $48,000 per year, billed annually. Request capacity up to 4M per month. - Network: an operator running many governed units, such as franchisees, brands, dealers or chapters. Central governance with per-unit variation, a wide automation allowance for network-wide change, request capacity sized to the network. - Enterprise: dedicated infrastructure and deployment region, advanced SLAs, compliance, custom integration. Negotiated. No transaction fees. No per-seat fees. No live usage meters. Standard plans run without a long lock-in contract. Alongside the tiers: - Managed services: prepaid hours, any tier. $195/hr ex GST blended rate until 30 hours. - Per-tenant operators: resellers are priced as a base plus a per-tenant fee, outside the three tiers entirely. - Non-profit discount: a set percentage off list price for registered non-profits, published as a standard rate and not negotiated deal by deal. Franchises, multi-brand retailers, multi-site manufacturers, membership networks, multi-location service businesses. If you make the same kinds of changes across many sites, stores or locations, that is the shape Core dna is built for. **Which tier fits?** Operator is one business running several properties. Network is an operator running many independent units under central governance: franchisees, brands, dealers, chapters. Enterprise is for dedicated infrastructure, compliance and scale. Placement is decided on shape, not size. **Is Core dna headless or traditional?** Both. One content graph, two delivery modes. Development teams consume content through the headless API for custom storefronts and applications, while marketing teams edit through the visual editor. Both write to the same graph, so content stays in sync whichever interface is used. **Can one instance run multiple sites, brands and locations?** Yes. This is the core design. One instance runs separate sites, storefronts, brands, franchise locations or chapters, each with its own content, pricing, inventory and permissions, while central teams enforce brand standards and push changes across the portfolio. Every change is approved, logged and reversible. **Does Core dna charge transaction fees?** No. Nothing is taken as a percentage of revenue. **What is a request, and are there overages?** A request is a call to the Core dna engine that returns a dynamic page or structured content, such as a headless query or a REST API call. Calls to static assets on the CDN do not count. Requests sit inside wide bands, and there are no live meters. Consistent growth past a band starts a planned upgrade conversation, not a surprise charge. **How does the MCP server work?** Core dna runs an MCP server on every account, with 80+ tools and 400+ APIs. Connect an MCP client, describe a change in plain language, and the platform applies it across every property you run. Approval and rollback apply to every change. You supply your own model, so model spend stays on your own provider contract. **How do you move to Core dna without a full replatform?** Connect existing systems through the APIs and ship the first change early instead of waiting on a big-bang cutover. A dedicated success manager and onboarding are included at every tier. ## Who Core dna is not for - A single store or single site with no portfolio behind it. Single-merchant platforms are cheaper and simpler for that shape. - Teams that want to assemble and maintain their own stack from separate best-of-breed products. That is the composable approach. Core dna is the opposite trade: one system, one bill, fewer moving parts. - Organizations that need a content repository only, with no commerce and no operational workflow. - Businesses hosting distinct companies that own their own data and contract independently. That is a reseller shape, priced outside the three tiers. ## Help center Full index at [coredna.com/help](https://www.coredna.com/help).
