Whitelion needed the primary focus of their website to be the promotion of their mission to the broader community and the ability to easily share information on their programmes and events. They also required the capacity to collect and collate information in a database and to be able to regularly send newsletters containing updates and new events to members of their mailing list. As the website progressed, Whitelion wanted to utilise their website to support their annual “Bailout” event. This needed to have the ability to process event entries and to receive mass donations that they would not have been able to support administration wise by telephone or fax. They also wanted to make it easy for the public to be able to donate from anywhere at any time.

Whitelion’s Newsletter gives them the functionality to create a pre-formatted, full-colour, electronic newsletter containing text, graphics and web links, which can be instantly delivered by email to a dedicated database of recipients. As one of the organisation’s primary focuses is on fundraising and raising awareness, it is important for them to be able to regularly contact members of their database and provide them with information on events and fundraising initiatives.

In addition, the Ad Manager Module displays banner ads, hero shots, editable content and website alerts that can be manipulated by the Whitelion team. It allows them to rotate content or scroll content to provide maximum exposure. Rather than using it as an avenue for partner advertising, Whitelion use this Module as a promotional tool to regularly produce fresh and engaging content for various target audiences.

The i-Vote Module allows Whitelion to run interactive fundraising events (such as "Bailout") on their website; segmenting participation between entrants and voters. Custom fields are used to gather segmented data profiles on users to create a database of entrants and voters.The Module also provides a gallery for profiles of Bail Out participants to be displayed in a search function so voters can easily find the person they want to donate to. i-Vote is integrated with Secure Member Pages in order to provide a secure, private area for visitors to register and donate with the protection of a username and password. To simplify the processing of donations, the Module is integrated with a secure third party payment gateway.
